QCI.dk-Cross Border Project Launch: Pan-European Quantum Communication is coming closer!
Sweden, Denmark, and Poland have recently launched the EU Funded QCI.dk Cross Border Project with a duration of 42 months. During the coming years, the project partners will be deploying a secure, interoperable quantum communication infrastructure based on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technologies across the EU Member States. Thereby they will be contributing to the wider interoperable European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI) initiative.
Thanks to all project partners for their constructive contributions to an awesome Kick Off Meeting held 2 + 3 February in a winter cold Copenhagen. Despite a freezing cold stay some very insightful and interesting discussions were carried through. Everyone has been showing great initial dedication and engagement in the project. Exciting and constructive collaboration will now take place during the next few years.
Cross-border quantum data security will be guaranteed using both undersea optical fiber cables and quantum-secure satellite links. EuroQCI ultimately aims to provide secure QCI spanning across the whole EU.
By implementing these new, disruptive technologies the project will be achieving and contributing to Europe’s preparedness for the post quantum cryptography era creating both digital resilience and engagement of a broad a user base as possible. Quantum Safe Network are just around the corner!
